Toby is a 1 1/2 year old neutered male Labrador Retriever/ Basset Hound mix that was surrendered because of the birth of a new baby. Toby has lived with children in the past and has reportedly done well with them. He is also reportedly housebroken and crate trained. Although he has never lived with other animals his previous owner did report that he does like other dogs, but he has never been around cats. Toby has a hard time adjusting since he entered the shelter system. It appears as though his previous family didn't socialize him very well so it does take him some time to warm up to new situations and people. Once you gain his trust, he is sweet and engaging. He will respond to sit, lay down, stay, and fetch. He also loves playing with toys. Toby is currently housed at our Perkiomenville shelter.
