My name is Rider and I am a neutered male, brown tabby Domestic Shorthair.
The shelter staff think I am about 2 years old.
I have been at the shelter since Apr 02, 2017.
This information is less than 1 hour old.
Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Rider has had a rough start to his young life. He was living outside, fending for himself, when a nice human started feeding him. Unfortunately, he kept getting in fights with other cats in the area and got a little banged up. (He currently has some healing wounds on his chest that should continue to heal on their own.) Since he is such a nice boy, the person that was feeding him decided to bring him to us so we could find him a loving home.
Rider tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), a disease of cats, commonly transmitted through bites. There is no cure for FIV. This cat may have a full and healthy life but the adopter is advised to consult with their veterinarian for further information. We have included additional information on FIV in the Medical Record for this cat. Rider should be an indoor only cat to reduce transmission to other cats. To enrich his indoor only life, he will need plenty of playtime, scratching devices and windowsils for bird watching to keep his active mind occupied. Surprisingly, Rider loves sitting on human's laps to receive affection. Do you have a place on your lap for this handsome guy? He deserves the very best!
