SHADOW - ID#A234735

My name is Shadow and I am a spayed female, black Domestic Shorthair.

The shelter staff think I am about 3 years old.

I have been at the shelter since May 27, 2017.

This information is less than 1 hour old.
Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Shadow may be tiny, but she makes up for what she lacks in stature in personality. She is a wopping 4.8 pounds and is full grown! She was surrendered to the shelter because the home she lived in was too busy for her. She lived with kids, other cats and dogs. Her household was always changing and she didn't appreciate the sudden changes in her social system. She will need to be introduced slowly and properly to any resident dogs or cats in her new owner's home to ensure they form a good bond. Her new owner will need to have a quiet, calm home, without small children. She is timid, but has been gaining confidence and warming up every day. She may take longer to acclimate to her new surroundings and will need a patient, cat savvy owner. Her previous owner stated that she likes to climb and be up high, therefore she would appreciate her new owner to supply her with cat towers and perches. Having these perches will help her gain confidence in her new surroundings. She is extremely playful and was described by her previous owner as being high energy. High energy cats generally need more toys, scratchers and windowsills to keep their active minds occupied.

The Bogey Fund contributes $20 towards the adoption fee for black cats. Adopt Shadow today! Shadow sure is tiny, but she has a lot of love to give!

05/27/17 10:27 Rita's sister Marti came in to surrender Baby Girl for her sister. Marti stated that her sister has to move and she can't keep the cat. I will call the AO to get more information. Marti told me that her sister just "up and left" and left the cat behind. The cat lives indoor only, and Marti stated she is super sweet. LP
