PUMPKIN* - ID#A229855

My name is Pumpkin* and I am a spayed female, brown and white Pit Bull Terrier mix.

The shelter staff think I am about 5 years old.

I have been at the shelter since Jan 22, 2018.

This information is less than 1 hour old.
Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Lovely Pumpkin had been living in her previous person's backyard for her entire life. In some ways you could tell - she didn't know anything about going up and down stairs and didn't seem to have received much kind attention at the hands of humans - and in others, you couldn't tell at all - she is boisterously joyful and will lay herself in your lap like a big baby, she loves a comfy couch, and is an avid Warriors fan like her foster family. Here's some of what they have to say about the phenomenal Pumpkin:

"Pumpkin is a super sweet and gentle girl who is quick to drop to her back for a belly rub from anyone willing to give her love. Prone to quick energy bursts that flame out with a couple laps in the yard, she is still learning how big her body is and that it often doesn't fit in small spaces. Pumpkin "sleeps well with others", and loves a bed with a human in it to cuddle. A couch works in a pinch, too.

Pumpkin came to us not knowing how to do much of anything...such as jump in the car, navigate stairs, wait at a door, or even sit. She is quick to learn, and equally quick to test boundaries. Pumpkin is taking both human and canine correction well. She wants to please her pack so very badly.

Pumpkin is working hard on her leash skills, which is going slowly. Since the world is so new to this 5 year old, Pumpkin is easily distracted and especially interested in meeting and playing with other dogs."
