Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Calypso was found living in some local vineyards, stealing cat food bowls under the cover of darkness. When our Animal Control went to check out this porch pirate they had the easiest "catch" of their career as the white ball of fluff curled up amongst the grape vines didn't stir on approach and let them leash her up. That was when it became apparent that Calypso is deaf.

At approximately 2 years young this blue eyed girl is on the shy side. She leans into walls & people for security. She doesn't startle too easily, but will let out squeals when spooked. Obviously she doesn't know her squeals are quite alarming, but it is her way of communicating.

Calypso has come to enjoy the security of her kennel. She is happy there with tail wags, rolling over for belly rubs and being content to be petted. When the world gets bigger she hunkers down & is unsure about what is around the next corner. She will need time to adjust to her new environment. She loves her treats and we hope her porch pirating days are over. Despite being stray with another dog we haven't been able to find a dog that Calypso 'likes' in the shelter.
