Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Summer Bunny and another rabbit were abandoned at a downtown San Jose construction site. They managed to survive for many months before Summer was rescued by a kind woman who persisted until she was able to save both rabbits. Summer is currently being fostered by the woman who rescued her.
Read what Summer’s foster mom has to share about her: “Summer is a beautiful, gentle, and very confident rabbit. She enjoys the camaraderie and comfort of being with other rabbits in the household, but she thrives most as an unbonded, single bun who loves being entertained by her bunny neighbor friends. She would be happiest in a calm, quiet household. Older children (10+ years) are OK as long as they are calm, gentle, and respectful. She absolutely loves to snuggle and will assume the 'pancake' position at a moment's notice. Now that she has found shelter, she adores her creature comforts, e.g. a cozy space to call her own, an assortment of high-quality pellets, beautiful and fragrant hay (Western timothy and alfalfa), fresh greens, and, of course, rabbit cookies.”
