DOG DAY OUT REPORT WEEK OF 5/10/24

Today I: Got to go for a looong hike and see so many new things! First, I met two new friends and they took me for a car ride – I LOVE car rides! Except they had to remind me to stay in the back seat where I am safest, but that’s ok, I got a cookie! On my walk I saw people, dogs, and bikes and they don’t bother me at all. But then we saw so many geese and ducks! And they looked FUN, but my humans put some space between me and the geese, but that’s ok, again, cookies! Walking on a trail is so nice, I checked in with my friends, and I asked for cookies, and I learned a new game – touch! When I touch my nose to my friend’s hand, I get a cookie! That’s a great game!

Three Words to Describe Me are: Joyful – Energetic - Affectionate
Notes from My Walker: Missy is a sweet, affectionate girl! She did great on the trail and had no problems at all when we encountered people, bikes or dogs. We hiked about 5 miles on Coyote Creek Trail and around Hellyer Lake. We did learn that the Geese are prolific right now, so for all of our safety we gave the geese a wide berth. The geese and ducks were the only critters Missy had trouble ignoring – but who can blame her, they are interesting! She checks in well on leash, and has moments of pure joy that require a leap into the air – it is so cute! She does need to practice her impulse control, because she can get a little over enthusiastic, but she quickly calms down and is ready to continue the walk. She did great in the car, but needs a little encouragement to stay in the back seat, which just takes some practice. Missy would be a fun, happy addition to any active family home who is willing to put in a little time and support for ongoing training and impulse control efforts. That effort will be paid back a hundredfold in kisses.
