Owner said the dog is fighting with their other dog at home. Owner says the dog likes to go for their other dogs neck. Owner claims the dog isnt biting down hard but when he does this it scares their other dog and she snaps back at him. Leads to fights. Upon intake the dog lunged at staff a few times. Baring teeth when attempting to grab his leash.

Adopted and returned after 6 wks due to not being a good fit with her dog. I called the adopter to obtain additional information:
Personality: Adopter said he was sweet natured with her. Once he warmed up, he enjoyed petting and was very affectionate. Adopter said he would sit on the couch with her and put his head in her lap. She said he was starved for affection. She also said he was a lap dog and enjoyed car rides.

Other Dogs: Playful with dogs but plays rough. Never injured or bit her dog but would neck and herd her dog and her dog didn’t like it. He went to Wag Hotel multiple times. One time they reported that he needed a break from play when he got too stimulated.

Grooming: Adopter said he liked brushing. She took him to the groomer twice and he did well.
Walking: Very strong dog. Walks well on leash but pulls towards other dogs to meet. Adopter felt she wasn’t physically strong enough for him. She also hired a dog walker who picked him up in his van with five other dogs and he did very well walking with the other dogs in Half Moon Bay.

Vetting: Needed sedation at the vet or muzzle. Did not like going to vet. Needed sedation for bloodwork. Did better on second visit with use of Gabapentin before the visit. Her vet reported he had a high level of protein in his blood and should be retested. He was also treated by her vet for Guardia and conjunctivitis.

Guarding: Food possessive. Needs to be left alone while eating. Adopter said he would growl if she got too close to the food.

Barking: Adopter said he rarely barked and was a quiet dog.

DNA: 60 Husky, 20 Malamute, 10 GSD and 10 Samoyed
