Bono’s fosters tell us: Bono is a great dog! He quickly adapted from the shelter to life at our house. He gets along well with our resident 2-year-old dog and is gentle with our two girls, ages 7 and 10. Bono is always ready to enjoy all the finer things in life: treats, toys, balls, fetch, playtime with his fur sibling, and relaxing on the couch with his people. He’s a medium energy dog and enjoys short games of fetch and a daily walk. He walks well on a leash with only a very light pull. He’s very smart and intelligent. He knows sit, down, leave it, gentle, and wait and is also potty trained. He’s not a nuisance barker since we haven’t heard him bark yet. We would love to help him find his forever home!

Last week SVPP Dog Day Out Notes:
Today I: I went for a really nice hike today at Quick Silver County Park. We hiked over 4 miles. Yes, I am an older dog, 8 years old or there about, but I am very active and vivacious. My handler learned that if he put me on a long training leash, I was prone to pulling because I wanted to walk faster, but if he kept me close by him, I was quite willing to stay there and not pull at all, but periodically looked up to check with him/her that I was behaving correctly. I liked my handler, so I showed my appreciation by giving sloppy dog kisses every chance I got. I don’t react to other dogs, nor much of anything else. I’m very polite and just happy to be outside. I really like people, and like being with them.
Three Words to Describe Me are: Polite, mellow, active.
Notes from My Walker: Great dog. Want a hiking friend? This is your buddy. He’s a great trail companion.

Bono is always ready to enjoy those walks and play time. He loves all toys and is always game for fetch, bringing the ball back for another round! Bono is a social boy who makes friends fast, both people and canine. He even participates in doggie playgroups! When it comes to training, this boy knows how to sit and is ball and food motivated! Bono is more than just a four-legged companion; he's an ageless source of joy and enthusiasm. Are you ready to welcome the charm of Bono into your life?

SVPP Dog Day Out Notes:
Today I: Met a new friend who took me on a car ride and then on a fun adventure!
I jumped right in and leaned in to give my friend a couple kisses while she secured me. While we drove, I put my face out the window so I could feel the wind in my hair. We went to a park with lots of trails – so much to explore.
I saw lots of people, including little people, and dogs. They were fun to watch, but I was more interested in all the smells. I really like the treats that my friend gave me. I sat nicely for them while we rested. After our walk, I got to try a Pup Cup and then to explore the pet food store. On the way back, I rested quietly in the back seat.
Three Words to Describe Me are: Happy-Friendly-Curious
Notes from My Walker: Bono is such a happy boy!
Happy to jump into the car and go for a ride. Happy to explore the park, happy to try a pup cup and explore the pet store, and even happy to go back in to see his friends in the shelter!
Walking around he was interested in people and other dogs, but not reactive. He looked, but then continued on with his exploring.
He could use some leash training, but when held on a tight leash, he did much better.
He knows how to sit nicely for treats, but it you wait too long he will give a cute little yelp to let you know he is waiting. When we were at Pet Food Express and puppy ran up to him, and he gently said hello with a lick. He does like to “mark” a lot including inside.
Bono is a happy-go-lucky medium (about 60 lbs) Shepherd that acts much younger than his estimated 8 years.
