BEAR - ID#A031827

My name is Bear.

I am a neutered male, brown brindle and white Pit Bull Terrier.

The shelter staff think I am about 6 years old.

I have been at the shelter since Jun 13, 2020

I am in foster care, but I'm still available for adoption! Please call or email the shelter at nacc@norfolk.gov for more information. If they are comfortable doing so, foster families may participate in the adoption matching process; after all, they often know the foster animal far better than we do. We do allow foster families to select the adoption applicant they feel is the best fit for their foster pet.

Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
I'm Bear! Upon arrival I was a bit unsightly-I was missing most of my hair along my back and my skin was inflamed. I was immediately treated for fleas then put on medicated baths and started to blossom! My hair started to grow back, and my skin is clearing up. I may be a tad older but I am still energetic! My adopters will need to continue giving me monthly flea protection, a high quality diet, and regular grooming appointments. With my medical situation in check, now I just need a home to call my own! I would need to be an only pet in adult only home because I prefer to not be tugged on and for no little hands in the way of my food and treats. Do you have room on the couch for me?

*** 08/05/20 Dog personality profile from foster: Bear has been in foster since the end of July. House trained. He walks well on leash. Friendly, shy, reserved, loves to be petted and quiet. Plays with toys. Crate trained.
