Currently on our P.U.S.H. List!
Jase's claim to fame are his extra special eyes. His right eye is brown, and his left is half brown and half blue! The effect is gorgeous against his smooth and shiny black coat. Jase is a very sweet boy who loves to be around people. Getting pet is one of his favorite things in the world! But he also loves to stretch his legs and go on a good run. Once he's had the chance to get some of his initial energy out, he's a lot calmer. He loves to just lay around on the couch and be pet. His dream home would include other dogs that he could run around and play with all day. He gets along well with other dogs and provides lots of entertainment! He's also learned how to sit on command in a previous short term foster home.
One of his short term fosters described him as "a tall well-proportioned boy. He is mild mannered and easy on a leash...He sits on command and has a soft mouth. He is very good with kids and other dogs. He is a good and faithful friend..."
" Jase is likely a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix. He has many of the cool characteristics of the breed. For instance, he has a "cracked glass eye" (which basically means that one of his eyes has two colors). He is a good family dog (he is very gentle and kind with kids). He loves to go out on long walks, put his nose to the ground and sniff animal trails. His ideal day involves waking up early, spending time outside and inside taking it easy, dipping his feet in a lake or pool and then going on a trail (preferably off leash in a large fenced area so that he can tree every squirrel he sees). He likes to end his days curled up with his people dreaming about squirrels and raccoons.
Unlike some Catahoula's, Jase does not appear to have vision or hearing problems. Although he is middle-aged, he is lively on the trail. He is fine with other dogs and enjoys a bit of dog wrestling, especially after a swim. Jake is very good in the house. While in foster (where he has never been left alone), he has never had an accident or chewed anything."
