OLIVER - ID#A011593

My name is OLIVER.

I appear to be a male, black American Shorthair.

The shelter staff think I am about 2 years and 10 months old.

I have been at the shelter since Sep 28, 2021.

This information was refreshed 56 minutes ago and may not represent all of the animals at the Haywood County Animal Services.

Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Oliver came from a home that his people were not able to care for him anymore due to certain hardships. Here is what they wrote about Oliver,

"My name is Oliver. I am a really good boy. I am housebroken and will use a litter box if you provide one. I get along with dogs as long as they are friendly. I play with Max, a 14 pound chihuahua mix.
I don't bother anything. I was set out in the winter time. My mom found me near starved to death. Some animal nearly killed me. They helped me get better and healed. I stayed in the basement all winter. My balance is not good. That is why they have kept me. I have been fixed and well fed. I have my rabies shot. I am a neighborhood cat. I like kids, I play with them some, but you can't just reach and pick me up. I will come to you when I get used to your home.

My heart is broken. We just can't take care of him anymore. Give him a chance. We do love him. Thanks!"

Since Oliver has been with u a t the shelter he has hidden and seems very confused. I have made progress with him for gentle pets, but this noisy shelter is not the best situation for a kitty that has physical limits.
