FRIES - ID#A011101

My name is FRIES.

Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
Barn Cat Program Cat Requirements

1. Adequate shelter where cats can be warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
(i.e. barn, shed)
2. Shelter has to be a place cat is safe from predators.
3. Fresh water needs to be available at all times and they need to be fed daily.

When you first bring home your new barn cat, you will not be able to just turn him/her/them loose in their new home. Steps need to be followed to insure your new kitty knows that this is the new home and to stay.

1. Have a large crate set up in your barn or shelter that you want them to claim as home. If your barn or shelter has, an enclosed room that can be closed off then you will need to place a carrier, box or something small where they can hide.
2. Keep them in this large crate/room for about 10-14 days (if possible) with plenty of food and water plus a litter box.
3. After two weeks or so open the crate/room door so they can roam around.

Our cats are fully vetted before they go home with you. That means they are spayed or neutered, up to date on all shots which are the rabies and two vaccines, medicated against internal and external parasites and eartipped.
