Hi! My name is Tiger! I am a handsome 7-year-old flashy brindle boy that is looking for my forever home! Not much is known about my history or previous life, but I have some scars on my face and arms and it’s taken me months to relax in my foster home. Loud noises and new visitors still scare me, but I have come a long way! My energy level is medium to low with limited spurts of excitement. I like to sit in the corner of the kitchen and people watch or curl up on the couch. I’m a sucker for dog beds and soft blankets! I’m referred to as a “cat dog” because I like to snuggle and love on my terms, am not overly affectionate and in your face, but will crowd you when I want love. I do well with all the resident dogs (a large 11yo female lab, large 8yo male boxer (dominant), 2yo male boxer and 18month female foster boxer). I have not had issues interacting with any of them and respond best to new situations when with a companion dog. I love playing with the other foster pup and wrestling with her in the evenings. I will snuggle with the larger female dog in the home but am most comfortable with medium sized dogs. When meeting new people, I find confidence in other dogs’ reactions. My foster mom thinks I would do best in a home with another dog to show me the ropes of life or someone who is patient enough to let me come to them once comfortable. Currently, I live with a 6-year-old human kid and am great with him. I am gentle with him and enjoy snuggling. I do not jump on him, but I do love a good cookie and might try to steal snacks from children when they aren’t looking. I am well mannered, minus counter surfing when food is left within reach and I am unsupervised. I also will step on other dogs to get snuggles but respond well to grumbles for me to quit walking on others. I am a smart boy and am house trained, doggy door trained, and know when the humans are tricking me with treats. I do need help learning proper leash training but if another dog is with me, I will follow their lead and walk some on the leash. I am uncomfortable in the crate and will work to find a way to escape it, sometimes hurting myself in the process. Some of my favorite things are being in the backyard sunbathing while the humans are doing yard work and my crinkly chicken toy! My foster mom says I am a “wonderful boy with a super sweet disposition that needs someone who will be patient with me and allow me to grow in a safe, loving environment”. If you think that could be you, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!
