Sitter needed 5/11/24 - 5/28/24 Meet Shylee, the sweet pup looking for her forever home! Shylee is currently in foster care, where she's waiting for a family who will cherish her and help her overcome her fears. Shylee is a solo act, preferring to be the only dog in the home. She's been in playgroups at APA and walks well with other dogs, but she can become excited and whine when leashed, which the behavior team has diagnosed as "leash frustration." While Shylee hasn't lived with children or cats, she did spend time with an 8-year-old boy who was dog-savvy and had three dogs of his own. According to her foster sitter, Shylee adored him. Shylee is house trained with no accidents and does well in her crate when left alone. She takes Gabapentin to help with anxiety and fear and may exhibit some "stranger danger" at times. Additionally, she can appear protective of her foster parent when in the car, likely stemming from her fear. Despite her challenges, Shylee is a loving and affectionate dog who enjoys being close to her humans. She's crate-trained and loves spending time with her foster family. With patience and understanding, Shylee will blossom into a loyal companion in the right home. If you're looking for a devoted companion who will thrive with a patient and understanding family, consider welcoming Shylee into your heart and home. She's ready to share her love with someone who will give her the security and support she needs to shine!
