I am a basically black male Domestic Shorthair.
I have the following characteristics: This very sweet young male cat (95% black, white spot on chest) started showing up in my yard earlier this week, September 26th and 27th, 2022. I live near E. 22nd St & S. Pantano Road. Since I was concerned about his respiratory health, I put my phone number on a note attached to his collar, hoping the owner would get in touch with me. He has nasal discharge and is snorting while he breathes.
I saw no sign of him on the 28th. Then yesterday, September 29th, a woman used the number on the collar and called me. She had seen him near Gollob and Millet. That's about 1-1/2 miles east of my house! This guy is really a traveler, trying to find his way home I imagine. (I also saw a post on Nextdoor from a woman who may have seen the same cat on September 12th near 22nd and Kolb, but also didn't know anything about his owners.)
I went out searching for him in the middle of the night and to my surprise and delight, I found him! He was at Gale Elementary, on Gollob near Old Spanish Trail. I was able to pick him up and I brought him back to my house.
I brought him to a couple of vet offices to scan for a microchip, but he didn't have one. They agreed that he needs medical treatment for his respiratory problems. So far, I have tried clearing his nostrils with a syringe and filling the bathroom with steam.
I also created posts on Craigslist, Nextdoor, PACC, HSSAZ, PETCO, and Pawboost. But I would really love to find his owners, who must be missing him terribly. **UPDATE: On Monday, Oct 3rd, I will relinquish him at PACC so they can treat him medically and then hopefully adopt him into a new loving home. But I still hope his real owners come forward and claim him.
Someone found me on 09/29/2022. I was found at Pantano & 20th Pl.
